Spatial arrangement

Think of the bays as building blocks with slightly pointed tops. At Salisbury the bays come in two heights, about 82 feet and about 42 feet, measuring from the floor to the apex (center) of the vault. Some bays are square, some are rectangular. The largest bay (a near square of 39 feet) is at the center of the building at the main crossing.
