Roof

The roofs are built of oak beams pegged together to form triangular trusses. When in place, the trusses are covered with boards and the boards with lead to protect the wood from the elements. When the roofs cover the side aisles are in place, the construction of vaults may begin. Once the vaults of the side aisles are constructed and stable, vaulting in the high part of the nave can begin.
